The Green Shield Electromagnetic Repeller, a Brief History
Although Green Shield has only recently taken off in the UK, it has long been used in the USA as an effective way to get rid of mice, rats and other pests.
The basic technology used to generate the pulsating electromagnetic field is not new, and early devices were in use in the United States in the mid 1980s.
The design of the boxes and the brand names have changed over the years. Previous incarnations were known as "Riddex" and "Pest-a-Cator", both of which sold very well (over four million units).
Today, these devices are only available in the UK under the name Green Shield.
For those of you old enough to remember Green Shield Stamps, we're nothing to do with them!
