US primary school closes again after rat control issues
04/02/2010
A primary school has been shut down because of a rat control problem.
Waybright Elementary school in Boston, USA, was today (February 4th) closed down after a rat was found yesterday.
Reports from thebostonchannel.com found that the rodent was discovered inside the vent of a kindergarten classroom.
But it is not the first time the school has suffered from vermin control issues. In the space of two weeks Waybright Elementary has closed after a rat was seen in the school cafeteria.
It had been reported that the rodents were contained in the basement of the building, but the latest discovery suggests otherwise.
"My kids are, every morning, telling me they don't want to get bit by a rat. I think it's sad that I have to send them there," one parent told the publication.
Another angry parent said the situation had been the same for weeks, while some complained that they had been assured the situation was under control when it evidently is not.
