Mouse control issues ignored by toilet tenants
03/02/2010
A group of Chinese migrant workers have been found living in a public toilet where mouse control is nonexistent.
The ten landscape workers have told authorities that they have been dwelling in the squalid surroundings for several months because they cannot afford to rent anywhere else, but the group may face eviction.
One of the tenants, Ai, told the Zhejiang Morning Express: "We have got used to the strong smell of urine. The worst thing is that people keep stealing my stoves and cooking pots."
Despite the fact the residence is still used for its intended purposes, the building has been kitted out with a bed, cooking facilities and even a television.
However, fellow lodger Wang Yuhua added: "The bad thing is there are mice everywhere."
Dalstonpeople.co.uk recently reported that the Urfa Sofrasi restaurant in Hackney has been a victim of mouse control issues, after an audit found droppings inside the cooker and cabinets last week.
