Holiday park shut due to rat infestation
26/10/2009
The need for pest control has led to part of a holiday park in Wales being shut down.
Kiln Park, Pembrokeshire was told to shut down food premises in the affected area by environmental health officers who were reacting to a complaint, reports BBC News.
According to Haven Holidays, which owns the park, a pest control company has been called in to deal with the infestation of rodents.
It stated that people have been "working overnight to clean and pest-proof the building".
The council revealed that the affected building would remain closed until environmental health officers were convinced that the infestation had been dealt with.
Haven Holidays announced that guests were offered their money back if they did not wish to stay, but said that most people had decided to remain at the park.
This comes after the Lichfield Mercury reported that popular beauty spot Stowe Pool has suffered from a rat infestation recently.
